I’ve just come back from a week drawing and painting Sennen Cove on Cornwall, and the surrounding area. It’s one of my favourite places and like a magnet that draws me to return again and again.
……………………
Up early the first morning, to catch the sunrise over the sea and hills. The sky was gold.

It brightened to clear sunshine.

Optimistically called ‘Morning Sea Mists’, this day turned out to be a total white-out. Definitely fog!

The sun came out again so I headed to the beach! I travelled light this time and just took my watercolours and graphite.

Ian and I walked to Nanjizal and saw a colony of seals in the still waters near the cliffs. The tide was in.

Another bright day and I wanted to record some more of the pure colours of this part of the coast.
Gorse and heather on the cliff tops. The colours are bright and surprising against the turquoise sea

A last evening on the beach and a time for quiet contemplation. It didn’t disappoint.
