Private tuition and bespoke workshops
Would you like to part in a workshop/tuition with a friend or small group of friends/family?
A minimum of four people are required to run a private workshop at a venue such as Birkdale Farm and Shandy Hall or similar and six people at Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens, and is subject to your needs and a suitable venue being available. Please get in touch to discuss a special workshop.
Bespoke tuition is available at my studio in Holtby, or outdoors in the Holtby area. A maximum of four people can be accommodated in my studio. Tuition is designed specifically for you and prices will be quoted based on your needs. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
You will be invoiced and payment is required in advance.
Lateness
It is your responsibility to arrive on time. No time can be added on to the end of the allocated time slot. Please check your travel times, arrive on time, and allow time to park. No refund can be given for time lost due to your late arrival.
Cancellations
Please contact me as soon as possible if you need to cancel your place on a workshop. I will make every effort to move your booking to another suitable day or offer an alternative.
Too few people: If a workshop fails to enroll enough people to run, it will be cancelled and you can either book a place on another day, take the equivalent value as one-to-one tuition, or you will be refunded in full if those are unsuitable.
Cancellation by you: If you cancel with 30 days notice or more, you will be offered a place on one of my other workshops, one-to-one tutorial hours of equivalent value, or a full refund. If you cancel within 30 days, will be offered a place on one of my other workshops, one-to-one tutorial hours of equivalent value, or a 50% refund. Unfortunately I am unable to give any refund if the period of notice given is less than 7 days.
Cancellation by Kate Pettitt: If your course is cancelled by me due to any unforeseen circumstances such as illness, venue cancellation, lack of numbers, or other events out of my control, I will get in touch as soon as possible to arrange alternatives that are mutually suitable, or offer you a voucher or refund for equivalent value.
Bad weather (outdoor workshops)
Outdoor workshops are obviously subject to the British weather and a degree of flexibility is necessary. Please be prepared to ‘weather it out’ if we have the odd shower. However, if bad weather stops play or if we need to rearrange a session because of a bad weather forecast, the session will either be re-scheduled, you will be offered a place on an alternative workshop (subject to places being available), or you will be issued a voucher for equivalent value. Please keep an eye on your emails in the days before the session, especially if the weather forecast is for rain or storms – you will be informed of any changes to plans in the 24 hours before the event if we need to rearrange due to the weather.
Access
If you have limited mobility or any health conditions or impairments that may need special consideration, please let Kate know in advance. It may not be possible to access every part of a venue, or a bespoke one-to-one sessions may be more suitable for you (these can be arranged). See individual venue information/websites for their own access information. It is your responsibility to ensure that the venue is suitable for your requirements.
My studio in Holtby: There is a gravel drive/parking area to the front of the studios. If there is space, you can park in front of the studios, otherwise you can park just around the corner in the village (parking is free). There is one fairly deep step up up into my studio. Inside, there is a sink and heating. There are wooden chairs. There is an outside toilet accessed via a sloping concrete path. The toilet has a raised boundary and does not have hot water or heating. Unfortunately, due to the age and design of the studios, neither my studio or the toilet are wheelchair accessible.
Please get in touch if you have any questions.
Health and safety
Please take care, use common sense and be considerate of others and the environment. Wear sensible clothing and shoes. When working outside or in my studio, you do so at your own risk. It is your responsibility to ensure that the workshop/venue is suitable for you. It might not be possible to accommodate your needs if you have specific allergies or mobility issues.
Please read al documentation supplied before the workshop/tuition and ensure that you familiarise yourself with any risks outlined.
My studio is my workplace and as such, it is full of my art materials and canvasses on open display. Please take care and act responsibly.
I reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if they do not act responsibly. In this event, no refund will be given.
Please get in touch if you have any questions.
Covid-19
If you have Covid-19 or suspect that you might, please notify me and do not attend a workshop or tuition session. You will be offered an alternative date or one-to-one tiotion of equivalent value (see Cancellation, above).
No masks are required when working outside (unless you prefer to). I recommend that you bring a mask with you as some venues might require you to wear one if you use certain facilities, or if you are in close proximity with a vulnerable person taking part in the workshop. Please be respectful of other visitors, especially if they are clinically vulnerable or anxious.
In the studio, I am happy to wear a mask if requested so please do say if you have a preference. During summer months, the studio is well ventilated.
