I’ve just returned from a week-long study trip to Penmon, Ynys Mon (Anglesey). The Old Lightboat House is just metres from the sea, its slipway submerged in water at high tide. Facing toward the Menai Strait, the Great Orme and Puffin Island can be seen to the left, and in the distance to the right, Bangor. The mountains of Snowdonia loom beyond.

I have come back to the studio laden with sketches, notes and plein air works on paper.
